According to legend, she had the sails of her boat infused with luxurious fragrant oils. Her intent? This tradition flourished in the Indian subcontinent during the Mughal era. Empress Noorjahan popularized floral attars, while the Persian physician Ibn Sina revolutionized the distillation process.

Goddesscent Perfume oils follow a time-honored tradition requiring both expertise and patience. We extract aromatic compounds from organically grown flowers using traditional steam distillation (the classic deg and bhapka method). What makes our perfumes truly distinctive is our use of long-lasting Sandalwood oil as a base, which carries the complex aromatic molecules from our botanical sources. The result? A sophisticated, layered fragrance composed entirely of natural ingredients.
Where are your perfumes created?
Each flower in our collection is grown, lovingly handpicked, and expertly distilled in India, capturing its purest essence. These enchanting perfumes are delivered to Southern California where they are carefully packaged in eco-conscious, recyclable materials.
Are the flowers grown with pesticides?
Never. Our flowers grow naturally without pesticides, which may keep bugs away but also strip away their true fragrance. Our carefully tended meadows serve two purposes: gentle perfume extraction and a safe haven for honey bees. These essential pollinators—like our customers—appreciate the pure, untainted essence of our blooms.
Why is sandalwood oil so widely used in your perfumes?
Sandalwood oil is prized for its high santalol content, which gives it its distinctive, calming aroma. Derived from the East Indian Sandalwood tree (Santalum album), or "Chandan," it’s one of the world’s most treasured natural ingredients. Traditionally used in religious ceremonies, weddings, and health remedies, sandalwood’s benefits are as timeless as its scent.
